Almost Seven Years Later, Z-Sandwich Finally Opens in Tenleytown

“When I put the coming soon sign up seven years ago I didn’t think I might be getting a Guinness Book record for the longest time to open up a restaurant,” laughs Z-Burger — and now Z-Sandwich owner Peter Tabibian.  “I did a lot of research to make the perfect hybrid of America’s popular eating habits… and the recent wave of healthy soup, salad and sandwich chains gave me the inspiration… I have spent a really long time working on making this the greatest new restaurant concept around, and now my customers will see the fruits of my labor.”

At the new Z-Sandwich, customers have the choice of more than eleven types of sandwiches and soups along with fresh baked cookies and, offers Tabibian, “if you like salads, you have more than seventy choices to pick from to make your own creation.”

Sandwich selections at Z-Sandwich include fire braised chicken, masterpiece, turkey, roast beef, vegetarian, tuna, meatball, caprice, Italian, smoked ham and PB &J with soup selections including garden vegetable and chili. Z-Sandwich’s more than 70 salad choices include all of the standards plus fresh kale, arugula, spinach, cilantro, fresh avocado, spicy broccoli, jicama, edamame, gorgonzola cheese, goat cheese,14 different crunches, shrimp, five spice seared tuna and mediterranean grilled chicken.  The salads are topped with twenty homemade dressings that include cucumber wasabi, pomegranate acai, apple habanero, pineapple coconut, Korean BBQ vinaigrette or just topped with fresh lemon and lime and imported extra virgin olive oil.

The new Z-Sandwich is located adjacent to Z-burger at 4321 Wisconsin Avenue NW in Washington DC and is open daily from 11 am to 9 pm.
