Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007).
Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. The 11th annual Crafty Bastards Arts & Crafts Fair – the region’s coolest crafts show – returns to Union Market in NE Washington, DC, later this month for 2 days of shopping, food and entertainment on Saturday, September 27th & Sunday the 28th. With more than 140 vendors from all across the country selling everything from velvet mounted animal heads to wearable fashion to unique housewares, there really is something that would appeal to everyone at this show.
The two-day outdoor exhibition will run daily from 10am to 5pm in the parking lot in front of Union Market (1309 5th St. NE, Washington, D.C.). Tickets are available in advance – $5 for a one-day pass or $8 for a weekend pass – online at . Children 12 years old and younger will be admitted free. Tickets will be available at the gate the day of the fair, but will be higher priced depending on the number sold in advance.
