The Bethesda Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA Bethesda) today announced the details of the 2014 ‘A Night for the Children’ Charity Gala. The Gala will donate all net proceeds to The Children’s Inn at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and House of Ruth.

On the heels of 15 years of successful support for The Children’s Inn, AFCEA Bethesda is proud to be able to continue its dedication to helping children in need by adding another worthy organization to its charitable giving program. The House of Ruth is dedicated to aiding children and their families facing homelessness and emotional and physical abuse. It provides housing, mentoring, and other support services to assist more than 1,000 individuals per year, including 400 children from 6 weeks to 18 years old.

AFCEA Bethesda is pleased to announce Stephanie C. Hill, president of Lockheed Martin’s Information Systems & Global Solutions (IS&GS)–Civil, as 2014 Chairperson. Ms. Hill is a federal technology expert and philanthropist who is committed to children’s health, welfare and education issues. She will lead this year’s charity event, bringing together the influential industry and government communities to make a positive difference in the lives of thousands of children.
