A premier traveling sneaker event?! Thousands of sneaker aficionados in the Capitol region came together earlier this month to take part in Sneaker Con D.C. Unlike any other stop for the event, in the District, attendees got up close and personal with the second edition of a live sneaker customization competition, Ace of Customs presented by Liquitex.
Using Liquitex Professional Acrylic Paint, Mediums, Paint Markers, Soft Body Color and Freestyle brushes, top customizers from CS Customs, Ruovo Company, and Sole Clinics East Coast competed for 5 hours to revamp a Nike KD6 with a DC theme.
Sneaker-heads, sneaker-moms and aspiring customizers also got to watch Kreative Custom Kicks as he customized Air Force Ones in the Liquitex booth. Showcasing his technique and style, Kicks created two unique pairs of Air Force Ones with a South Beach theme. Beyond painting custom sneakers, he answered attendees’ questions on technique and the design process.
Over 8,000 sneaker lovers were in attendance, making Sneaker Con D.C. one of the biggest shows to date.
