Aaron Jackson Makes Jete Society Dance Party Go Gaga

The 10th annual Jete Society Dance Party to benefit the Washington Ballet was a carnival creation at a “secret location” on the Georgetown Waterfront Saturday night.  Complete with fire breathing, circus performers and some magic movements by the Washington Ballet dancers.

“I always look forward to Jete dance party…it’s a fierce night out with with fun energetic people,” said Aaron Jackson, choreographer for the evening’s high-energy showcase entertainment set to Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face.”

“I chose Gaga because I am a fan! I love that she takes risks in her wardrobe, beliefs… I also think she is a inspiration to individuals trying to find themselves and their identity.”

The sold-out event for young professionals not only financially supports the ballet’s programs but also showcased the talent of the city’s local performers, such as Jackson.

“During my eight seasons [as a dancer with] the Washington Ballet, I choreographed for each Jete Dance party.  Getting in the studio for creation on talented dancers…there is nothing like it! It’s the best ‘high’ ever!!”
