“A picture is worth a thousand words,” but the emotion from the words in these pictures are priceless. Pink Jams! and Shoot for Change presented a photo exhibit Tuesday evening at the Atlas Performing Arts Center to celebrate the courage, hope, love and loss of women and families who have battled breast cancer, capturing one hundred real people and their real feelings.
Sadness, hope and even comedy were on display in the pictorial messages on display from such local notables as Lynda Erkiletian (at right with Barbara McConaghey), Christa Floresca, Stef Woods (below with Shoot for Change’s Walter Grio), Nadine and Bryan Namoff, and Kate Marie-Grinold. 
All proceeds from A Thousand Words support the Capital Breast Care Center, helping women in the Washington, DC area receive screenings and mammograms regardless of their ability to pay.
