A++ Event for Special Olympics and Best Buddies International

Last Saturday, Audi, some awesome athletes – and one famous Archuleta – came into the city with a challenge, the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Challenge.  This run/walk/20 mile cycling fundraiser served to benefit causes closest to Shriver’s heart, the Special Olympics and Best Buddies International, while promoting an active lifestyle.

Brothers Tim(Special Olympics) and Anthony (Best Buddies) Shriver joined forces to honor and salute their Mother in this annual event, bringing together Olympic Gold Medalist Carl Lewis to lead the 5k run/3k walk as renowned Tour de France cyclists Bobby Julich and Christian Vande Velde paced those on bicycles.

American Idol Season 7 runner-up David Archuleta also served as a headliner, singing five favorite songs in a post-challenge performance to include “The Other Side of Down,” “Angels,” “Crush,” “Falling Stars,” and Elevator.”
