The historic Georgetown House Tour is b ack for its 89th year!
\nOn Saturday\, Ap ril 23\, 2022\, St. John’s Episcopal Church will host the 89th Georgetown House Tour\, which is believed to be the oldest\, most prestigious house t our in the country.
\nThis annual event\, which attracts more than 1\,600 guests each year\, gives locals and out-o f-towners alike the opportunity to visit historic homes in a variety of st yles. Homes on the 2022 tour will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.\, and mas ks will be required for all guests.
\nOn a self-guided tour — which begins at St. John’s Church — guests will recei ve a House Tour Magazine along with an interactive map and histor ic information about each property participating in the tour. Houses are w ithin easy walking distance and can be visited at guests’ preferred pace a nd order.
\nWhile no specific homes on th e 2022 tour have been divulged\, they are confirmed to include exceptional homes and landmarks that highlight the charm and history of Georgetown’s past while showcasing modern design and architectural enhancements.
\n< figure id='attachment_56433' aria-describedby='caption-attachment-56433' s tyle='width: 200px' class='wp-caption alignright'>At the conclusion of the tour\, attendees will also receive complimentary admission to The Parish Tea\, held in Blake Hall at historic St. John’s Church (1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.) where t ea\, coffee\, lemonade\, homemade tea sandwiches and desserts will be serv ed.
\nProceeds from the tour benefit the outreach ministries of St. John’s church. Over the past few years\, St. John’s has funded a broad ran ge of human service organizations\, including Bishop Walker School\, Brigh t Beginnings\, Cornerstone Community\, Seabury Senior Ministries\, Georget own Ministry Center\, Grate Patrol\, Jubilee Jobs\, DC Volunteer Lawyers P roject\, Manna\, Metro Teens & Pediatric AIDS\, New Futures\, and Joseph H ouse (all in the Washington metro area)\, in addition to Seafarers & Inter national House\, American Near East Refugee Aid\, Episcopal Diocese of Jer usalem\, and Honduras Support through the Episcopal Diocese of Washington.
