42!

It was a major Movie Monday at the Smithsonian Museum of American History this week as guests such as film star Chadwick Boseman (above and below, left), John Gray, and Lonnie Bunch joined Carol Melton (left), Executive 041513DCScreening42-62Vice President for Global Public Policy of Time Warner Inc., to screen Warner Bro.’s film “42.”

Washingtonians might instinctively assume Bill Clinton (42nd President) as the subject of the film, yet it’s actually a biographical sports drama about the life of baseball player Jackie Robinson, who wore jersey number 42.Washington DC sceening of Warner Bros. film "42" at Smithsonian Museum of American History.

The screening came just a day after 42 made — no, not 42 — but $27.5 million on its opening weekend.  Don’t think that’s shabby!  It’s the highest-grossing debut for a baseball movie in Hollywood history… and the second-highest for a sports drama after “The Blind Side”

(Oh yeah, and besides a major motion picture, it’s also the answer to the Ultimate Question of life, the Universe, and everything.)
