3 New Holiday Light Displays Around DC

The festive wonder of holiday lights is one of the best parts of the holiday season, and DC has so many great displays to help you get in the spirit! We’ve already shared info on a few of our favorites, like Light Yards and Georgetown GLOW (postponed), but we know more displays will really light you up, so here are three new areas to make your season bright.

Adams Morgan launched an interactive light display through January 4, 2021 in BB&T Bank Plaza (1801 Adams Mills Rd. NW). The Illuminated plaza is full of gift boxes and street light decorations continue throughout the community. You could coordinate your visit to enjoy caroling for a distance, taking place:

  • Saturday, December 5, 12-2 PM
  • Thursday, December 10, 5-7 PM
  • Thursday, December 17, 5-7 PM
  • Saturday, December 19, 12-2 PM

The Boro (Tyson’s) has an Instagram-able art and light installation that last through the month of December. This one is perfect for photo opps! Guests walk through giant interactive gift boxes wrapped with bright bows, festive cutouts, and glowing lights. And while you’re there, check out the space where the new mural by Jessie + Katey — one of the largest murals in the DC area — is coming next Spring. That’s sure to spark some joy.

DC’s Main Streets make merry and bright with their spectacular DC Holiday Lights! Between December 1st and 31st, stroll down participating main streets (Lower Georgia Avenue Main Street, U Street Main Street, Logan Circle Main Street, Cleveland Park Main Street, Columbia Heights Main Street, Mount Pleasant Main Street, Woodley Park Main Street, The Historic Dupont Circle Main Street, North Capitol Main Street, Van Ness Main Street, The Parks Main Street, and Eastern Market Main Street) for a dazzling display of lights and décor as well as opportunities to take advantage of local holiday promotions and sales.
