2nd Annual Tigerlily Pink Masquerade Ball

As she battleded with her breast cancer diagnosis, Maimah Karmo never anticipated that one day she would be holding court at a Masquerade Ball.

Karmo, the founder of the Tigerlily Foundation, has certainly never been one afraid to show her face  – tears, fears and all – according to supporters of her charity.  Now healthy and happy, she’s helping others, and throwing an annual soiree for survivors!

Wednesday night’s Tigerlily Foundation Pink Masquerade at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel honored local ladies struggling with the day-to-day challenges of cancer and those who stand beside them.

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Shultz (D-FL), a breast cancer survivor,  and Miss DC 2010 Stephanie Williams (at right) who works at the Capital Breast Care Center, were featured speakers.  Also spotted, former Redskins Darryl Pounds and Brian Mitchell (bottom right).
